GeoHyd Lunch Seminar: "13th ESA advanced training course on land remote sensing: Snow and Glaciers. A report to the section"

Welcome to our GeoHyd Lunch Seminar on Friday 1th of November @ 12:15 in Aud. 1 in the Geology Building. The seminar is held by Marco Mazzolini (University of Oslo).

Seminar by Marco Mazzolini (University of Oslo)

"13th ESA advanced training course on land remote sensing: Snow and Glaciers. A report to the section"

Abstract: “The European Space Agency (ESA) organized an Advanced Training Course on Land Remote Sensing with the focus on Snow and Glaciers in collaboration with the University of Innsbruck. This course was dedicated to train the next generation of Earth Observation (EO) scientists and experts, working on snow and glaciers, in using data from Copernicus Sentinels and other satellite missions for science and applications development.

I attended the course as part of my PhD educational component, so I will present a selection of topics of interest to the researchers in our section, including some updates on current and upcoming ESA missions, a discussion of microwave and hyperspectral remote sensing of snow, and how the observations we obtain from satellites can be used in snow modelling.”
