Seminar by Regine Hock (University of Oslo)
FieldEX: An international program for short international exchanges for MSc and PhD students in Norway, Canada, USA and Japan focused on Field instrumentation and measurements in cold region environments
Abstract: The seminar will introduce a recently funded 4-yr program that provides unique opportunities for MSc and PhD students who are interested in geoscience related field measurements and international exchanges. The program allows MSc/PhD students to go abroad for 1-4 weeks to take field-related courses, to participate in field campaigns at partner institution and to participate in 1 wk international workshops focused on field measurements and field safety.
Partner institutions are located in the USA, Canada and Japan. While the program focuses on glacier related measurements, many of the field techniques are relevant for other cryospheric fields as well as meteorology and hydrology, and thus the program is open to students in geoscience who are interested in learning about field measurements and spending time abroad. The seminar will provide details about the program and how to participate.
About the Geohyd Lunch Seminar
The GeoHyd Lunch Seminar is offered by Section for Geography and Hydrology (GeoHyd), Dept. of Geosciences, University of Oslo. The seminars are announced as lunch seminars so bring your lunch if you want to.
The seminars are normally held in Auditorium 1 in the Geology Building, Blindern (map). Some are also offered on zoom. Zoom link to the talks will be sent to the e-mail list geohyd-alle@geo and geohyd-info@geo.
If you would like to subscribe to the geohyd-info@geo mailing list, please send an email to Anita Sørlie.
