Seminar by: Ketil Isaksen (Norwegian Meteorological Institute):
Climate Change in Norway's Alpine and Arctic Regions: New insights into Elevation-Dependent Warming and Advances in Permafrost Monitoring
---
About Ketil Isaksen: Isaksen is a senior scientist at the Climate and Environment Department at the Norwegian Meteorological Institute. His primary research focuses on climate change in the Arctic and mountain regions, particularly focusing on temperature variability and long-term changes in air, soil, and permafrost temperatures. He has made major contributions to the enhancement of permafrost and climate monitoring networks in Norway and Svalbard. He currently leads a study on elevation-dependent warming in Norway and leads the Svalbard climate module within the COAT (Climate-Ecological Observatory for Arctic Tundra, (2016–), project. Isaksen also serves as Norway's National Focal Point for the Global Cryosphere Watch and as the National Correspondent for the Global Terrestrial Network for Permafrost.
