GEOHYD Lunch Seminar: Internship overview: High latitude ecosystems and their climate interactions

Welcome to our GEOHYD Lunch Seminar Friday 23th of October @ 12:15 in Aud 2, The Geology building. The seminar is helt by Iris Mužić, Dept. of Geosciences..

Seminar by Iris Mužić, MSc Student, Department of Geosciences, University of Oslo.

Internship overview: High latitude ecosystems and their climate interactions

Abstract:

This internship project has been carried out from March 2020 at the section for Physical Geography and Hydrology (GeoHyd) at the Department of Geosciences at UiO. The research has contributed to LATICE Strategic Research Initiative and (UiO coordinated) national project EMERALD by addressing causal links between land-atmosphere interactions and climate variability at high northern latitudes. The collaboration has been expanded to the section for Meteorology and Oceanography (MetOs) and CLM group at the Department of Geosciences at UiO as well as to Norwegian Institute for Nature Research (NINA) in Tromsø. The internship has consisted of several research studies including, among others, three fieldworks (Tromsø, Hisåsen and Finse), climate modelling in CLM-FATES platform and assessment of biogeophysical and biogeochemical drivers and feedbacks of greening in the Arctic.
