GEOHYD Lunch Seminar: Magnitude of and controls on evaporation of high latitude ecosystems

Welcome to our GEOHYD Lunch Seminar Friday 13th of May @ 12:15 in Aud. 2, Geology building or via videolink using Zoom. The seminar is helt by Astrid Vatne, Dept of Geosciences.

Seminar by Astrid Vatne, Doctoral Research Fellow, Dept of Geosciences.

Magnitude of and controls on evaporation of high latitude ecosystems

Abstract: Evaporation is an important part of the water balance of high latitude ecosystems. But how important? The magnitude of evaporation in high latitude areas is uncertain, since measurements are scarce. In this talk I will present results from the LATICE-FLUX and affiliated eddy covariance sites to quantify the magnitude of evaporation and the environmental variables controlling it. I will also show the first result from a recent controlled growth experiment to test how a high latitude dwarf shrub respond to increased atmospheric demand, in both wet and dry soil conditions.

It is possible to attend physically or to participate digitally at the seminar

Videolink to the lecture will be sent to the mailinglists alle@geo and geohyd-info@geo. If you want to subscribe to the geohyd-info@geo list send an email to Anita
