Abstract:

In the Regional Aerosol Model Intercomparison Project (RAMIP), ten modelling center have run simulations changing anthropogenic aerosol emissions in four geographic regions. By combining a broad selection of CMIP6 generation model output with 10-member ensembles, the RAMIP dataset can be used to disentangle the regional differences in the climate effects of aerosol emissions with unprecedented accuracy. In this talk, we present results from a set of publications and ongoing analyses, showcasing how emission location really does matter for short lived climate forcers.

What is the Joint Oslo Seminar (JOS):

  • Atmospheric and climate sciences have a stronghold in Oslo among the four institutions University of Oslo, the Meteorological Institute, CICERO and NILU.
  • This joint seminar invites renowned international experts to contribute to an informal series of lectures, meant to create interaction with the Oslo atmospheric and climate science community on recent highlights and analysis in the field.
  • Normally seminars will be held on Thursdays (12:15 pm -1pm).
