Academic interests

At PHAB, my research will focus on investigating the habitability of the Late Ediacaran, during the appearance of the first communities of complex life. I am aiming to model the ecological occupancy of these Ediacaran fossils to investigate ecosystem habitability, focussing on those preserved at Mistaken Point and Discovery Geopark, Newfoundland. I will also attempt to collect palaeomagnetic data from Mistaken Point, aiming to better constrain the Ediacaran palaeogeography of Avalonia.

My interests include palaeoecology, palaeobiology, palaeogeography, sedimentology and geology in general.

Background

  • 2022 - 2026: Integrated Master's degree in Geology with Palaeontology, University of Leicester, United Kingdom.
    • Thesis studying the palaeobiogeography of Cambrian acritarchs, focussing on integrating the global Cambrian acritarch record with palaeoclimate and palaeogeographic models.
