Research
I am a planetary scientist researching the the interior dynamics of rocky bodies (planetesimals, moons, planets) and their thermal evolution. In particular, I am interested in magnetic field generation and core formation.
My most recent research focussed on magnetic field generation in planetesimals. Planetesimals were small, rocky bodies which formed in the early Solar System and were the building blocks of the terrestrial planets. I developed a thermal evolution and dynamo generation model for planetesimals and used it to constrain properties of these bodies based on the meteorite paleomagnetic record. This provides insight into the differentiation and thermal histories of rocky bodies in the early Solar System and the evolution of the protoplanetary disk.
At PHAB, I will explore the dynamics of metal-silicate separation in magma oceans following iron disproportionation or iron sulfide exsolution. I will investigate the effect of this process on mantle redox evolution and magnetic field generation.

Teaching
I am an Instructor for The Carpentries a non-profit organisation that runs courses to teach foundational coding and data science skills to researchers worldwide, with a branch at UiO. I also have experience teaching vector calculus, foundational mathematics for Earth Scientists, and introductory python.

I have also developed a school workshop on planetary interiors suitable for students aged 8-16. If you want to access the materials for this workshop or want me to deliver it at your school please get in touch.
EEDI
From 2021-205, I co-founded and co-led the LGBTQIA+ affinity group at the Department of Earth Sciences, University of Oxford. The affinity group provides a safe space for LGBTQIA+ members of the department to find community and solidarity in a relaxed environment. The group has monthly meetings and also runs department-wide educational events in LGBT+ History Month and Pride Month.
