Academic interests

My research interests focus within the realm of paleontology and the development of time series frameworks. In particular, I am interested in trying to shed light on implicit assumptions and the spatial and temporal contentions common to time series analyses of paleontological datasets, and other historical geological datasets. I also have strong interests in marine biology, geology, biodiversity, and conservation.

Current Research

My PhD project will apply time series inference framework to better quantify relationships between abiotic and/or biotic time series across the Phanerozoic and assess the difference between dynamic processes underlying Earths biological and geological history. Furthermore, I will evaluate the current understanding and application of time series tools in paleontological literature to improve inference.

Background

  • 2025: Doctoral Research Fellow at the University of Oslo (Norway)
  • 2022-2024: M.Sc. in Environmental Science from Te Herenga Waka - Victoria University of Wellington (New Zealand)
  • 2019-2021: B.Sc. in Marine Biology from Te Herenga Waka - Victoria University of Wellington (New Zealand)

My masters dissertation focused on quantifying future extinction risk of living New Zealand marine molluscs using time series analyses of the Cenozoic marine mollusc fossil record.
