About the project
The Long-term cooperation projects between University of Oslo and Wuhan University in China provide excellent staff and students mobility between two top academic institutions.
Objectives
The main goal of the cooperation is to strengthen the long-existing partnership between the institutions. This is done mainly with providing a set of more student related activities to the students from the partner institutions such as: student mobility efforts, intensive courses and field excursions, workshops and seminars. It is also provided joint supervision of Msc theses. But there are also goals related to research with preparing for joint international research projects.
Outcomes
This cooperation has carried out several activities and given many results. From 2017 to 2019 a total of 13 master`s students from WHU have been on a study exchange for one semester (5 months) to University of Oslo, Department of Geosciences. Correspondingly students in geosciences from UiO have had a visit stay at the WHU. Here they have attended workshops, intensive course, and/or been on field excursions. In research it is worth to mention that more than 20 joint published international articles have benefited from the project cooperation.

Financing
The project is financed through SiU / Norwegian Agency for International Cooperation and Quality Enhancement in Higher Education (Diku) in the UTFORSK Partnership Programme.
The UTFORSK Partnership Programme supports project cooperation between higher education institutions in Norway and higher education institutions in Brazil, China, India, Japan, Russia and South Africa.
The project period had its start in 2017, with an ending in 2020.
