Degrading of ice core moraines in Jotunheimen quantified by aerial image analysis and PS-INSAR (insar.ngu.no)

Ice core moraines in southern Norway are linked to permafrost, which preserves ice cores in moraines over many thousands of years. In recent years, visible signs of degradation of landforms due to global climate change (water-filled subsidences etc) are increasing, which can be observed both by air/satellite photographs and INSAR, which measures continuous subsidence of the surface.

The thesis will do a regional analysis of changes in time in Jotunheimen, and observe some selected objects in the field (e.g. Kjelen/Juvvass) using laser scanning and drone observations.
