Hylleraas Seminar, Lluis Artus Suarez

Hylleraas Friday seminar, hosted in Oslo

Speaker: Lluis Artus Suarez

Title: Computational study on amide hydrogenolysis to methanol and amine

Abstract: CO2 abundance, low toxicity and low molecular weight makes it a good candidate for renewable carbon feedstock. However, CO2 is a gas and must be capture first. One of the methods to do so is using amines to form amides, which can be used for methanol formation. However, this reaction mechanism is not well known and deeper understanding would help to improve its performance. The speaker will propose reaction pathway of hydrogenolysis alkyl and aryl amides based on the DFT calculations and kinetics modeling.

The Hylleraas seminars alternate between Oslo (room V205) and Tromsø (room C302), and are broadcasted by video conference to the other place. It is possible to follow the seminars externally upon request.
