About the Centre

The Hylleraas Centre aims to develop and apply computational methods to understand, interpret, and predict new chemistry, physics, and biology of molecules in complex and extreme environments.

A Norwegian Centre of Excellence

The Hylleraas Centre is a Norwegian Centre of Excellence shared equally between the University of Oslo and the University of Tromsø - The Arctic University of Norway, with the University of Oslo as project owner. It receives an annual funding of 15 million NOK from The Research Council of Norway.

The Hylleraas Centre was established on 1st October 2017 for a period of 5 years with the possibility of an extension for a further 5 years following a mid-term evaluation.

Young Researchers Parliament

Platform for the young researchers at the Hylleraas Centre to voice their opinions and take part in the decision-making process at the Centre.

Career Development

It is important to the Hylleraas Centre to enhance the career development of early-stage researches.

Sabbatical and Visitors Programmes

International collaborations are essential to the Hylleraas Centre. To encourage strong collaborations, we run active Sabbatical and Visitors Programmes.

Hylleraas Math Help

With the Hylleraas Math, we offer wide-ranging individual math support to students enrolled at the Department of Chemistry. The program's set-up consists of two hours drop-in sessions (events) throughout the semester.
