Hylleraas Seminar, Karen Dundas and Magnar Bjørgve

Hylleraas Friday seminar, hosted in Tromsø

Karen Dundas

Title: Polarizable Embedding simply explained

Abstract: The method of Polarizable Embedding has been used for many years, also by members of the audience.  I would, however, like to take the time to explain it in a way that I hope everyone will get some output from, even the ones who have never heard either of the words "polarizable" or "embedding".  It is an interesting method with large potential, both when it comes to application and in combination with other methods.  After this talk I hope everyone will have a clear (if somewhat crude) picture of the principles making up the method and of which new features we are about to add. Take this as an advertisement for our very cool program coming very soon.

Magnar Bjørgve

Title: A brief introduction to the mrcpp python interface

Abstract: Since this is my first talk I will begin with introducing myself and my project "DFT calculations with periodic boundary conditions in a multiwavelets framework". Following this I will speak about the python mrcc interface, and how this can be used to solve PDEs.

The Hylleraas seminars alternate between Oslo and Tromsø in room V205 (Oslo) and the seminar room C329 (Tromsø).

The seminars alternate between our two nodes and are broadcast by video to the other location.
