Relevant Courses for The ELITE Study Program

If you are a student in the study program "Electronics, Informatics and Technology" (ELITE) at the University of Oslo, you will need to select some courses in the curriculum yourself and/or together with your master project supervisor. This is relevant both on Bachelor and Master level. Here are some suggestions for relevant courses you can consider.

Important: This is not an exhaustive list!!!

You may choose other subjects that are not listed here. Many excellent courses are provided at FI and IFI, and also at other institutes and departments at the university. Completely different subjects might be more relevant for your master project than those listed here.

Check for schedule overlap and prioretized admission rules!

Note that we cannot guarantee for all of these relevant courses not to overlap in the weekly schedule with some of your mandatory subjects. However, for a subset we do attempt to keep them from clashing with your mandatory schedule. Be careful to check yourself!

Furthermore, some courses have certain priority rules when accepting students. So it may also happen that you will not get accepted for the more popular courses. Such conditions are stated on the course web-page.

Talk with your study programme coordinator

ELITE Bachelor

Normally there are 40 ECTS corresponding to 4 free (10 ECTS) subjects (or more if you choose 5 ECTS subjects) you need to choose.

All the courses below are useful to prepare you should you plan to later pursue one of the two specialization topics in the ELITE master programme. However, if the courses are particularly suited as foundation for a later master study specialization ELITE: microelectronics and sensor technology, they are marked with MST, and if they are particularly suited to prepare for a future master study specialization in ELITE: digital signal processing, they are marked with DSP.

ELITE Master

Only two courses for 10 ECTS each are mandatory for the master, so to fill up 60 credits you can choose the rest freely together with your project supervisor. Most courses are 10 ECTS credits.

Courses particularly suited for ELITE: microelectronics and sensor technology are marked with MST, and those particularly suited for ELITE: digital signal processing with DSP. However, all courses are of use in your curriculum regardless of the specilization.
