Guests: Cristina Diego and Carlos Medina

Cristina Diego (Electronics Department, University of Alcala) and Carlos Medina (Department of Signal Theory, University of Granada) are guest researchers from Spain for about three months starting August 15th 2011.

Cristinas project: "Ultrasonic sensory systems for mobile robots guiding". She will work on simulation of a 32 element phased transmitter array system (80 kHz). The purpose is to characterize the field and the effect of things like wall reflections. It is meant to be used in a system using coded simultaneous pulses in many directions at the same time.

Carlos' project: "Development of an indoor location system designed to be used in ambient intelligence applications."
He will work on a combined ultrasound/RF system using time-of-flight of ultrasound + signal strength for RF and ultrasound. He will do experiments and measurements in the DSB-lab.
