Project 1: Surveying subsea cables and pipelines with sonar (follow link for PDF with in-depth description)
This project aims at benchmarking adaptive array signal processing methods applicable to sonar data from subsea cable and pipeline surveys by simulating sonar recordings for a large number of scenarios. This would enable the selection and pre-verification of the adaptive DSP method with the highest expected performance before it would be used under field conditions. (Project 6 in list at UiO:Energy).
Project 2: Analysis of experimental data from chemical detectors (follow link for PDF with in-depth description)
This project aims at analysing experimental data from chemical detectors acquired in a controlled CO2 gas release experiment. The data is acquired during a controlled CO2 gas release experiment run over 27 days in the Oslofjord with ocean conditions similar to a North Sea environment. The aim of the project is to define a detector algorithm for gas leakage based on passive sensor monitoring and natural correlation properties between CO2 and O2. (Project 4 in list at UiO:Energy).
Project 3: Gas leakage detection in sonar images (follow link for PDF with in-depth description)
This project aims at processing experimental sonar data recorded by the Kongsberg M2 multibeam sonar to enhance the visual appearance of gas leakage. The data is acquired during a controlled CO2 gas release experiment run over 27 days in the Oslofjord with ocean conditions similar to a North Sea environment. The aim of the project is to develop a detector algorithm for gas leakage based on active sonar imaging. (Project 5 in list at UiO:Energy).

Initially, there were some problems with the link above. But now the UiO:Energy web seems to work in full again. Still, we below keep the direct links for applying to our 3 positions, just in case the above link would become problematic again:
