I have recently commenced my PhD after completing my master's thesis in the Robotics and Intelligent Systems program at IFI, where I specialized in artificial intelligence and machine learning. My master's thesis, which I wrote in collaboration with the Simula Research Laboratory, focused on using explanations generated by explainable AI (XAI) techniques as additional data features to enhance the prediction performance of deep learning models.
Here at DSB, I will be working on deep learning methods applied to echosounder data and other marine image data for the purpose of marine ecosystem monitoring. I am also part of the Visual Intelligence center for research-based innovation, and my project will be in collaboration with the Institute of Marine Research.
I have thoroughly enjoyed starting my PhD journey so far, and I look forward to meeting everyone and getting to know all of you better!
