Welcome Chaoran

We're so glad that Chaoran is starting his PhD with us!

Hei hei!

My name is Chaoran. I am delighted to start a new period at the DSB group as a Ph.D. fellow, focusing on ultrasound shear wave elastography.

I completed my master study at DSB group as well, under the supervision of Håvard Kjellmo Arnestad, Sven Peter Näsholm and Andreas Austeng. My master thesis was about evaluating a beamformer called null-subtraction imaging. I gained most of my knowledge on beamforming and ultrasound imaging from this work.

Before I came to UiO, I also spent one and a half years in another master program at the University of Auckland. I mainly worked on telescope scheduling using linear integer programming there.

I obtained my bachelor degree at China University of Petroleum (Beijing). Thereafter, I got experience as a hardware developer, developing driver programs for an embedded radio transceiver on Nvidia SoC.

In my spare time, I like downhill skiing and cooking. I also play a little piano. I am ready for the new period of study in the DSB group, excitingly!

Kind regards,
Chaoran
