Hi! My name is Adin, I am Guatemalan. I have been moving around before settling in Norway. I did my PhD in Computer Vision in South Korea. Then, I worked in Latin America, was a professor and researcher in Chile, and then in Brazil for some time. I also briefly worked in Iceland for a few months.
My formation is as an Engineer in Computer Science and Systems. During my PhD, I played a bit with Signal Processing and image formation and enhancement. My main applications were on Computer Vision. Since then, I have been pursuing a path towards Image Understanding. Nowadays, one of my main interests is Video Understanding. Simultaneously, I pursued a path on Machine Learning to tackle the problem of Representation Learning. My first love was Feature Engineering. A while ago, I moved into learning as the next step to keep improving the representations and, consequently, the outcomes on the applications.
It is exciting to be here! I look forward to starting collaborations and joint projects with all of you on different topics.
