Hi, my name is Sufayan and I'm thrilled to be joining this lab as a new PhD student.
I completed my dual degree of BS-MS (Bachelor and Master of Science) in Physics with a minor in Mathematics from the Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER) Thiruvananthapuram. During my master's program, I focused on photoacoustic imaging and developed novel real-time image reconstruction techniques to improve the image quality and facilitate its clinical use.
In this lab, I will apply my imaging experience to work on ultrasound beamforming, where I will develop advanced imaging techniques, targeted towards detection of cardiac fibrosis (CF) in ultrasound images.
Outside of research, I enjoy listening to music, binge watching variety of TV shows and movies, and reading about politics.
I'm looking forward to getting to know everyone and collaborating on different topics.
