Hello everyone! My name is Aziz, and I’m excited to join the DSB group as a Postdoctoral research fellow through the DStrain programme.
My previous research has mainly focused on numerical methods for solving partial differential equations, particularly in the context of inverse problems. I completed my PhD at the University of Caen Normandy in France, where my research focused on data completion problems in structural mechanics. Afterward, I worked on a collaborative project between the French National Institute for Research in Digital Science and Technology (INRIA) in Paris and the French energy company EDF, focusing on seismic wave modeling for imaging the interface between dam structures and the underlying rock using Full Waveform Inversion. At the DSB group, I am excited to explore a new application area, with my project focusing on medical ultrasound elastography. I look forward to getting to know everyone on the team and to learn more from you.
Outside of research, I enjoy playing football, hiking, and occasionally cooking. While I’m not very skilled at skiing, I’m excited to learn and improve during my stay in Norway.
