Hei alle sammen! My name is Seçkin. It is a pleasure to join the DSB team as a Doctoral Research Fellow.
I completed my bachelor’s degree in geophysical engineering at Kocaeli University in 2012. Then I started working as a geophysical engineer at the Akkuyu Nuclear Power Plant construction site in Turkey. Afterwards, I studied M.Sc. in Geophysics at the University of Houston as a scholarship student. I mostly worked on numerical and seismic modeling for imaging clandestine tunnels with an HPC system. After completing my degree, I started working as a processing geophysicist at Turkish Petroleum Corporation. I have worked on numerous land and marine seismic processing (in-house and onboard) projects for more than 5.5 years.
I am quite motivated to be working on greenhouse gas leak detection for my research project at DSB as I always had a desire to work for a carbon capture and storage project to make a difference and help with a sustainable future.
Besides working on research, I enjoy hiking, watching opera, and listening to classical music. I look forward to starting my PhD and getting to know everyone to on the team.
