Hello everyone,
My name is Tobias, and I am delighted to join the DSB group as a PhD student. I am looking forward to exploring how neural networks extract and summarize the most relevant information from data, and to developing efficient and robust algorithms that improve model reliability under realistic conditions throughout my PhD studies.
I earned my bachelor’s degree in mathematics at the University of Tübingen in 2022. Recently, I completed my master’s degree in mathematics with a specialization in optimization at the Technical University of Munich. My thesis focused on novel heuristics for highly complex, dynamic vehicle routing problems. During my studies, I explored topics ranging from combinatorial optimization to probability theory and machine learning.
Beyond research, I enjoy cycling, learning various types of dances, and continuing to improve my Norwegian language skills. I am excited to begin my PhD and get to know everyone in the team.
