How to reach Oslo Science Park
Mechanochemical synthesis and processing of materials are well-recognized non-equilibrium techniques successfully applied to a great variety of solids, including those for the energy conversion and storage. During the last decade, this method demonstrated its effectiveness in forming novel metal hydrides and altering their thermodynamic and kinetic properties, thus becoming one of the most frequently used techniques in the field.
WMMH-18 is the first dedicated forum that would exclusively target the use of mechanochemistry for the improvement of metal hydrides. The workshop will take place at the University of Oslo (UiO) from May 30 to June 1st (2018), and will celebrate the life achievements of prof. Etsuo Akiba who greatly contributed to all aspects of metal hydrides.
The workshop will consist of in-depth presentations of recent advances by a selected panel of 10 speakers (see list below). During the poster session all participants are encouraged to present their recent activities.
Size and format of a poster/ Requirements
• Poster should be a single A0 page format that conveys your entire message
• Your poster should be mounted on Thursday, May 31st 2018, before the afternoon poster session
• We will provide push pins to you to hang your poster
The following topics will be highlighted:
Topic 1: Fundamentals of mechanochemical methods from the metal hydride perspective
Topic 2: Severe plastic deformation of metal hydrides
Topic 3: Milling under reactive atmosphere (reactive milling) and liquid nitrogen temperatures (cryomilling)
Topic 4: Mechanochemical synthesis of new hydrogen-containing materials
Topic 5: In-situ mechanochemical experiments
In order to keep the workshop informal and facilitates discussion, the number of participants will be limited to 50. The workshop fees of 2000 NOK include two lunches, the welcome party and also the banquet. Please proceed to the payment of the fee here
