Fall 2024: ITS-Talks Energy system models: What are they, how do they work and what can they be used for

Welcome to our open seminar series ITS-Talks at the Department of Technology Systems. Last one this year!  We will be back next year with new and exiting talks.

ITS-Talks is a series of short talks from both early career and established researchers.

Our event series "ITS-Talks" will also showcase early career researchers and provide them with a platform for discussing their work on various topics. We welcome you to an Q & A after the presentations.

Program:

At this last ITS-talk this year, we are fortunate to host the EMO group (Energy MOdel Group)! Come and join us when Oskar Vågerö & Co. talks:

"Energy system models: What are they, how do they work and what can they be used for"

The Energy MOdelling ( EMO ) group at ITS, works with Energy System Optimisation Models to study future energy systems. Although the overarching objective of contributing to future low-carbon energy systems is shared, the perspectives, methods and focuses vary within the group.

In this ITS-Talks, they will present energy systems optimisation modelling as a framework, how the models work and give a few examples of what they can be used for. This will provide a basis for future, more detailed and specific ITS-Talks from the EMO group.

The seminar is open to anyone, so feel free to forward this invitation to anyone who might be interested.
