CENSSAT hosts various payloads:
- ASTRA-LEO:particle detector,
- m-NLP: Multi-needle Langmuir plasma probe for density structure analysis,
- Monochrome Camera: Earth and aurora imaging triggered by dynamic events,
- Space Debris Radar: Space debris detection system
- TychoBo: On-board edge computing and AI/ML,
- DRACO: Atmospheric drag control for thrustless orbital maneuvering,
- UHF TACSAT: Deployable antenna with Software Defined Radio for tactical communications.
Objectives of this thesis project:
- Develop dynamic solar generation and energy storage predictive models tailored to varying orbital illumination and eclipse cycles.
- Perform mathematical power consumption modeling of different payload over the the Life Cycle of Satellite.
- Implement constraint-aware payload scheduling algorithms prioritizing high-power science payloads (e.g., Space Debris Radar, TychoBoB) while securing essential satellite platform housekeeping.
- Validate real-time, event-driven switching (e.g., triggering the optical camera or SDR upon TychoBoB or ASTRA-LEO detection) under energy budget constraints.
This thesis project is supervised by the CENSSS partner Jotne Connect.
