CENSSat-1
ASTRA-LEO is a multi-particle radiation detector developed for the CENSSAT-1 CubeSat, scheduled for launch at the end of 2027/early 2028. Before flight, the detector must
undergo calibration and qualification to ensure accurate measurements in orbit. This includes laboratory calibration, beamline tests, and environmental testing.
ASTRA-LEO will detect Solar Energetic Particles (SEPs), Gamma-Ray Bursts (GRBs), and fast neutrons in Low Earth Orbit. To ensure scientific return, operational procedures and analysis tools must be prepared before launch.
Understanding and predicting detector performance is crucial for interpreting in-orbit data.
Monte Carlo simulations and radiation environment models can be used to predict particle fluxes, optimise shielding, and evaluate measurement accuracy.
In Assenbly, Integration, and Test, it is you building the satellite, funktional test it, and verify it's suitability for space deployment in environmental tests.
