What is..? is a social seminar aiming to bring together young researchers from different sections at the department of mathematics at UiO.
The inspiration comes from the 'What is..?'-column of the AMS; talks should be short expository talks to a general mathematical audience explaining anything from a basic concept in your area of mathematics to a nifty construction or an interesting problem.
Each session consists of two 15 minute talks with a break in between providing an ample opportunity to socialize. Coffee, tea and cakes will be served.
Do you want to give a talk?
Don't hesitate to contact one of the organizers! We welcome and hope to see contributions from all sections in the department.
