List of arXiv'd material
Here we give links to and perhaps also detailed lists of FocuStat related arXiv'd material, i.e. papers published and then preserved inside the e-archive repository system "arXiv" . Authors incude Nils Lid Hjort, Dennis Christensen, Céline Cunen, Ingrid Dæhlen, Gudmund Hermansen, Kristoffer Hellton, Vinnie Ko, Emil Stoltenberg, and yet others with high correlation to the FocuStat group, as Ingrid Glad, Steffen Grønneberg, Martin Jullum, Tore Schweder.
A few of our FocuStat Blog Posts have indeed been transformed & re-formatted as LaTeX'd preprints, by Nils, in order to land in arXiv for easier access and broader visibility. Some of these "FocuStat Stories" type e-prints are listed first here (there will be a few more), before we give links to e-prints by the different authors.
There are indeed various not entirely well-defined or well-separated subcategories of arXiv papers, and the AI revolution, alias the Manhattan Project of our Time (as Nils calls it in the Lachrymnae Lament placed on page 1 of his zero-AI August 2026 arXiv paper), has led to almost a deluge of submissions, more or less from 2025 onwards, and with consequences for editorial policy to stem the portion of too heavily AI assisted papers. Nils's own subcategories are more or less these (each of them close-to-zero AI): (i) Genuinely new papers, headed for journals or not; (ii) essays, in the FocuStat blog-post style of things, with Statistical Stories being told, without necessarily claiming to have developed new theory; (iii) a collection of good technical reports from the past, which (for various reasons) did not land in proper journals; (iv) a different collection of good technical reports from the past which DID land in strong journals, but there there is more material and details in the original manuscripts. For some of the category (iii) papers there are implicit invitations to join forces with Nils, "these are well-worked out basic ideas, but in need of further efforts and exploration in order to land in journals" (and as of 2026 there are existence proofs that this is working).
