Thoralf Skolem (1887-1963) was one of the greatest logicians of the 20th century. Every year there is a Skolem Lecture at the University of Oslo jointly hosted by the departments of philosophy, mathematics and computer science. About the speaker:
Kit Fine is Silver professor of philosophy at New York University. He is a leading contributor to Metaphysics, Logic, and Philosophy of Language. He is a fellow of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences, and a corresponding fellow of the British Academy. In addition to his primary areas of research, he has written papers in ancient philosophy, linguistics, computer science, and economic theory.
