Fahimeh Najafi

Fahimeh started working with us at Njord in October. Her PhD is part of the CompSci-project which has received funding from the European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme under the Marie Skłodowska-Curie grant.

Fahimeh writes the following about herself:

"I did my bachelors and masters in Physics in Iran. In my master's project, I worked on optimizing graphene oxide as an antibacterial agent. After that, I started working as a data scientist where I was involved in creating models to analyze social media. For my PhD, I am interested in using computational and machine learning methods for solving physical problems and that is what I'm going to do here. I will be studying the frictional properties of surfaces with molecular dynamics for a physics-based simulation and neural networks that learn the relationship between the structures and their properties."

Fahimeh will be sitting with CCSE the first period.
