Description of services:

  • identify and categorise solid crystalline materials
  • determine the structures of new molecules and materials
  • study how structures change at the atomic and microscopic scale as we modify them chemically
  • measure the thickness and composition of nanometre-thick films (e.g. in microelectronic devices)
  • see how the atomic structures of functional materials change under real working conditions
  • accesses the nanoscale allowing us
    • to watch the organization of polymer micelles
    • to watch proteins in real time
    • to study the nucleation of nanoparticles and Crystals.
