Academic interests
My research interests broadly focus on theoretical and computational approaches to understanding complex physical systems, with particular interests in many-body quantum physics, quantum materials, computational spectroscopy, quantum computing, and emerging quantum technologies.
I enjoy developing analytical and computational methods to understand and solve challenging problems, and I am interested in applying these skills beyond my current research areas. I am therefore open to interdisciplinary collaborations across physics and other fields, particularly where theoretical modelling, computational methods, high-performance computing, or machine learning can provide new insights.
Background
I am a theoretical and computational physicist specializing in many-body quantum physics, quantum materials, electronic-structure theory, computational spectroscopy, and scientific software development.
I am an active developer of the Yambo/Lumen and GPAW electronic-structure codes, with extensive experience in large-scale simulations using high-performance computing (HPC) facilities and high-throughput approaches for materials modelling.
I obtained my PhD in Physics and Nanoscience from the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia, Italy, in 2021. My thesis, “Computational spectroscopy of inhomogeneous materials by many-body perturbation theory: method developments and applications,” focused on developing computational methods for the study of complex materials.
Since 2022, I have worked in Norway, first as a postdoctoral researcher at NMBU and, since September 2026, as a researcher at UiO. My work focuses on electronic-structure modelling and computational materials science. Current research projects include quantum materials, 2D materials, power-electronics interfaces, computational spectroscopy, and AI-accelerated many-body simulations.
