ISAS has confirmed that LiteBIRD completed activities planned during Prephase-A2 and has selected LiteBIRD as the strategic large mission.
LiteBIRD is a planned small space observatory that aims to detect the footprint of the primordial gravitational wave on the CMB in a form of polarization pattern called B-mode.
LiteBIRD is primary a JAXA (the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency) experiment, with proposed support from NASA, CSA and ESA. Our Institute takes part in the LiteBIRD Joint Study Group on foregrounds as external collaborators, and are represented in the European Steering Committee and the Interim Governance Board.
