To facilitate comparison between climate zones, landscape elements and management systems, as well as to strengthen the collaboration within the network of stations, SITES stations participate in Thematic Programs focused on remote sensing, lake and stream monitoring and aquatic mesocosms.
This presentation will focus on the Thematic Program called SITES Water, which provides open access to and data from a coordinated catchment monitoring program in lakes and streams across Sweden. Data includes water balance, physical variables, chemical variables, biological variables and greenhouse gas fluxes. Case studies will be presented that highlight how SITES Water lake data contributes to the understanding of environmental change across climate zones and landscape elements within Sweden.
