CBA Tuesday talks : Camille Crapart

Every second Tuesday, CBA members gather for lunch and a talk. On March 8th 2022, the talk will be given by PhD student Camille Marie Crapart. Title: Modelling of TOC concentration in Fennoscandia

This talk will be the first hybrid Tuesday Talk at CBA after a long period of pandemic restrictions. So we look forward to seeing some of you in person at room 2418 in the Kristine Bonnevies hus building. Zoom link will be sent via email to CBA members.

A short description about Camille's research :

I used the data from the 1995 Northern Lakes Survey to model the total organic concentration in about 4000 lakes with the catchment characteristics as predictors. The work is based on a previous study by Larsen et al., who suggested that the Normalized Difference Vegetation Index (NDVI), the proportion of bogs and the runoff were the main predictors of TOC concentration in Norway. This study is extended with a geographical model to all the lakes samples in Fennoscandia. Based on our results, we forecast the TOC concentration in the near future, taking into account climate change and the current forest policies.
