Academic interests
I started as a new PhD student in palaeobiology in January 2016.
I did my Bachelor studies in Germany (TU Bergakademie Freiberg), came to Norway to do my Master’s in Geology and worked on the sedimentology, sequence-stratigraphy and stable isotopes of a glacially induced incised valley system of the Ordovician in the Oslo Region.
I find the interactions of bio- and geosphere fascinating and decided therefore to start working on palaeobiological questions. My main interest lies in the fields of palaeoenvironments and –ecology.
In my PhD thesis, I will work on local and global patterns of the Great Ordovician Biodiversification Event. We aim for to get a better understanding of biodiversity and palaeoecology by combining both biological/ecological and geological approaches.
