Academic interests

I have been a CEES PhD research fellow since 14th August 2023 and joined the Archaeogenomics group working on the SaveCave project. The interdisciplinary project will enhance our understanding of cave ecosystems, biodiversity, sustainability, and human-environment interactions during the Holocene by investigating and preserving the faunal and archaeological record of high-latitude cave archives in northern Fennoscandia.

Coming originally from Austria, I obtained a background in two MAs in (Bio-)Archaeology and Egyptology which I studied at the University of Vienna, the University College London, and Uppsala university. My PhD will comprise interdisciplinary work in osteological and aDNA analysis on the excavated zoo-archaeological remains and sediments. Generally, my research interest lays in combining methods in the Biosciences and Archaeology to give insight into prehistoric human-animal-environment entanglement, climate change dynamics, and the preservation of our biodiversity.
