Abstract
Classical theory of molecular adaptation focuses on a restricted scenario for the adaptive process where adaptation occurs from single copies of new mutations. We show that alternative scenarios are biologically relevant and lead to drastic differences in the footprint of adaptation that may be observed from DNA polymorphism data.Other information
