Late Lunch Talk: Are marine animals the most vunerable on the planet to warming temperatures? by Malin Pinsky, Rutgers University

The oceans are warming more slowly than terrestrial ecosystems, but marine species have evolved narrow thermal tolerance windows and lack access to microclimate refuges that could otherwise allow short-distance escapes from warming. I will discuss some recent analyses using a global database of thermal limits to examine whether these traits combine to make marine species especially vulnerable to warming.
