The Annual CEES Student Conference: 25-26 November 2019

Dear all CEES members: We are pleased to invite you to the CEES Annual Student Conference 2019. Please register.

Schedule and updates:

  • The programme with lecture titles (pdf) is available.
  • The abstracts (pdf) are available.
  • On the second day (Tuesday) there will not be served lunch, as we start the talks at 12:00 (coffee & buns from 11:30!)
  • The dinner on Tuesday will start with apéritif from 18:00, and tapas at 18:30. Dress code: nice.

Conference information

The conference will take place in Bikuben, Kristine Bonnevies hus, Monday 25 and Tuesday 26 November. (Exact time to be announced later).

Master and PhD students will, as part of their training, present their research to date and/or plans for future work. Some Postdocs will be asked to do so too. There will be a short presentation of the different research groups at CEES. Participation is mandatory for all CEES members. If you are not a member of CEES and still want to participate, please contact the CEES administraton.

Supervisors should take an active part in their student's preparations.

(We ask you to please submit the registration form, even if you cannot attend the conference.) 

Deadlines

  • 25 31 October: Deadline for registration. 
  • 11 November: Deadline for submission of final title and abstract
    Update 14.11.2019: If you have not submitted your abstract yet, please contact your supervisor, before submitting it.
  • 18 November: Deadline for submission of presentation.

Speaking time - tentative

NB: Check your allocated time with the final program.

  • Thematic introductions: 5 minutes
  • Postdocs: 10 minutes
  • PhDs: 10 minutes if you started on your PhD more than 6 months ago/10 or 5 minutes if you started less than 6 months ago
  • Master students: 10 minutes if you have results to present/5 minutes if you just started on your Master's.

Booklet

We will produce a pdf booklet with the submitted titles, abstracts and portrait photos. The booklet will be made available prior to the conference in the form of a pdf. The booklet will not be printed. The text you submit will be made publicly available. Do not write anything that can not be made publicly available (unpublished data etc.). Confer with your supervisor if necessary.

Dinner/party

All participants are invited to a dinner/party in the evening of Tuesday 26 November. Dress code: nice. Venue: Nedre Løkka, Thorvald Meyers gate 89. Apéritif from 18:00!

Cost

Cost of lunches, refreshments & dinner will be covered by CEES. Any additional costs incurred (such as travel) will be accountable to the individual, unless otherwise has been agreed upon in advance.
