The Annual CEES Student Conference and Banquet 2009

Dear Master and PhD students, Postdocs and all other CEES members!

We are pleased to invite you to the annual CEES Conference and Banquet at the Holmen Fjordhotell
15th-16th September 2009.

BUS DEPARTS FROM PRESTEGÅRDSVEIEN (BEHIND THE BIOLOGY BUILDING) AT 08.15.

CEES Conference

All CEES members (including, of course, students) are expected to attend this conference. Master and PhD students will, as part of their training, give a presentation on their projects. It would also be appreciated if some of our Postdocs and Researchers could also give presentations on their work linked to the various themes and colloquia, time allowing. Supervisors should assist their students and PhD fellows in preparing their presentations. Most of our students will not have completed their projects at the time of the conference, in which case he/she should present what has been achieved to date, or what is planned. We request that presentations are in PowerPoint format, and that they are submitted by 12.00 PM, Thursday 10th September 2009.

Note: There will be free buses to/from the venue, departing from behind Kristine Bonnevie's House, Blindern (Prestgårdsveien) at 08.15.

CEES Banquet

Being gathered at this very nice place by the fjord, we will take the opportunity to enjoy a late summer banquet on the evening of 15th September. All costs will be covered by CEES (excluding additional bar and room service). You are all wholeheartedly welcome to this event. Dress code: Nice.

Background

It was decided at a CEES core meeting in January 2006 that it shall be compulsory for Master and PhD students to have two presentations during the study period, preferably one at the beginning and one towards the end of their studies. Remember that this is an excellent opportunity to obtain feedback from highly qualified colleagues on your work.

Response

Please complete the registration form as soon as possible, and no later than Friday 26th June. Participation is mandatory for all CEES members. If you are unable to attend, please provide your arguments and register your absence using the on-line form.

You are all wholeheartedly welcome!
