I am a molecular biologist and neuroscientist by training and did my PhD at the Department of Pharmacy, University of Oslo. The topic of my doctoral work was prenatal pharmacoepigenetics, exploring the relationship between prenatal exposure to medications, DNA methylation in umbilical cord blood and child neurodevelopment. To this end, I have ample experience with handling and analyzing both Norwegian registry data and large -omics data sets.
During my doctoral work, I came to appreciate that there is a lot left to uncover within prenatal pharmacoepigenetics, both with regards to the analysis of data, integration of additional -omics data, and strengthening of the causal interpretation of results. Therefore, I am interested in how to integrate genetic and epigenetic data to strengthen causal inference of underlying molecular mechanisms associated with prenatal medication exposure and child neurodiversity.
