Academic interest

I am working within the field of pharmacology and studying mechanisms of cyclic nucleotide-signaling causing different functional effects in the heart. In this work, I am looking at the regulation of the signaling and the function of different proteins as phosphodiesterases and interacting proteins.

My research has a special focus on mechanisms and effects of natriuretic peptides and cGMP-mediated signaling - with the goal of finding novel pharmacological treatment for cardiovascular diseases.

Background

I finished my Cand.pharm-degree at Department of Pharmacy, UiO in 2005. After that I have worked at the Faculty of Medicine, Department of Pharmacology (UiO) as a Ph.d.-student (2006-2012), post doc (2012-2017), researcher (2017-2025) and group leader (2021-2025) of the research group "Regulation of cardiac signalling". In 2026 I started as Associate professor at Department of Pharmacy, Section of pharmacology and pharmaceutical biosciences and I am now a part of the MetHealth-group.

I have been supervisor for several master and Ph.d.-students and I have experience from being project leader and work package leader on several research projects, including innovation-oriented projects.
