I am a pharmacist from Senja in the far north. I finished my Master in Pharmacy at UiT The Arctic University of Norway in Tromsø in 2015. During my study years I worked in a community pharmacy and also had a part-time job teaching pharmacy technicians. After my master’s I worked at a hospital pharmacy in Oslo for a year and a half. I then started a PhD in pharmacoepidemiology and in December 2021 I defended my doctoral thesis at UiT. For my PhD project I studied medication use in persons with coronary heart disease and their achievement of treatment goals for blood pressure and cholesterol based on data from the Tromsø Study and the Norwegian Prescription Database. This included studies of use of and adherence to medications, as well as validating medication use in questionnaire data.

I am excited to join PharmaSafe where I will be working with projects concerning COVID-19, including EU-COVID-19 and Nordic COHERENCE, investigating risk factors, disease course and consequences of COVID-19 in vulnerable populations and the impact of medication use in these groups. My focus in these projects will be on children. I look forward to working on these projects together with other talented and experienced researchers.
