Welcome Dinner and Introduction
The seminar kicked off with a welcome dinner on Saturday evening, where attendees had the chance to network and set a collaborative tone for the day ahead.
Data Collection Insights
Milica Zugic, a PhD student with PharmaSafe research group at UiO, and Marleen van Gelder from the Netherlands and also a member of PharmaSafe lead the discussions. Milica and Marleen initiated the seminar by presenting the current status of our combined data across the participating countries: Norway, Sweden, Denmark, France, Ireland, Serbia, Belgium, the Netherlands, Italy, Switzerland, and Portugal. Milica highlighted preliminary results on antidepressants, while Marleen shared insights from asthma medication data. Discussions centered around data analysis approaches, both overall and stratified by country, and plans for ongoing data collection and subsequent analysis were also reviewed. One standout session focused on sharing experiences and best practices for data collection, noting crucial dos and don'ts and generating ideas for improvement.
Engaging Practical Sessions and Discussions
Participants also engaged in a hands-on recruitment session. Activities included drafting recruitment emails, planning web posts, and brainstorming effective strategies to maximize participant engagement. This practical session was particularly useful for aligning our recruitment efforts across different countries.
Milica led a detailed discussion on scale scoring. Defining scale scores, establishing cut-off values, and addressing related issues were key topics of discussion, ensuring that we move forward with standardized and robust measurement tools.
Concluding Remarks and Next Steps
The seminar concluded with summarizing key points and outlining the next steps. Immediate next steps include finalizing data sets, continuing recruitment efforts, and preparing for collaborative analysis sessions.
MAMP Study Background
The MAMP study focuses on the use of antidepressants and asthma medications in pregnancy across various European countries. It aims to understand women's adherence, attitudes, and experiences with these medications during pregnancy. The insights gained will contribute to developing new tools to measure adherence levels, ultimately supporting clinical practices and improving doctor-patient conversations. We would like acknowledge UiO:Life Science for funding this seminar and give our thanks for enabling us to continue our international collaboration. Stay tuned for more updates on the MAMP study and other exciting initiatives at PharmaSafe. We are deeply grateful to our international partners and look forward to continued collaborations. Together, we are making significant strides in understanding and improving medication adherence during pregnancy.
