Anne Gerd Granås stands at the forefront of research in social pharmacy and pharmaceutical technology development in Norway. As the Chief Research Officer at MedThings AS, she contributes to the development of the Mobili eDosett, the first and only medicine dispenser designed, produced, and tested in Norway. This groundbreaking device is now beginning to be rolled out in Norwegian home care facilities, marking a significant advancement in digital medication management. However, Granås acknowledges that there are still ways to enhance the functionality of the eDosett and address practical challenges in its implementation.

In tandem with Granås’s work, Kim Tran has embarked on her master's thesis, tentatively titled "Innovation of eDosett in Home Nursing - How Can Relatives Be Used as a Resource in Digital Medication Management?" Her research aims to explore further developments of the eDosett while also investigating the potential roles family members can play in the medication management process for patients. By engaging relatives as active participants, Tran hopes to uncover new insights that could enhance the effectiveness of the eDosett.

To deepen their understanding of the eDosett’s practical application, Anne Gerd and Kim recently visited a home care facility in Nesbyen, Norway. During this visit, they observed firsthand the process of filling eDosetts for various patients and witnessed how healthcare personnel interact with this innovative tool. This experience provided invaluable insights into the current usage of eDosettes, as well as highlighted areas for improvement and further development.

The knowledge gained from these observations not only informs Granås’s ongoing research but also provides a solid foundation for Tran’s master’s project. Together, they aim to elevate the standard of care for patients through enhanced digital medication management, focusing on both technological innovation and the vital role of family members in healthcare.
