Dr. Louisa H. Smith is an Assistant Professor at Northeastern University and is an expert in epidemiologic methods and causal inference. She has extensive teaching experience in causal inference, time-varying exposures, and R programming, where she has taught courses at Northeastern, Harvard, and Emory.
This course addressed the methodological challenges of analyzing time-varying exposures in pregnancy outcomes research through a causal inference framework. The course covered different methods for analyzing exposures that occur at varying points during pregnancy, as well as study design principles such as target trial emulation.
Participants in the course included PhD students, Professors and researchers, which created a unique environment for discussion and different perspectives on perinatal epidemiological research.
We would like to thank UiO:LifeScience for funding the course, as well as to Louisa Smith for her contribution!
