Over the past year, Lin has been an important collaborator for PharmaSafe in perinatal pharmacoepidemiology. Her contributions include a BMJ publication on paternal metformin use and risk of birth defects, and work related to paternal valproate exposure and risk of neurodevelopmental disorders in the offspring (in press).
She previously visited PharmaSafe as an iAPOGEE visiting researcher in 2023, and this collaboration will now be further formalized through a research group affiliation. The affiliation provides an ideal structure for deepening the collaboration, completing ongoing joint work, and integrating more fully into PharmaSafe’s scientific activities.
Planned collaborative projects
In 2026, the collaboration will center on a study evaluating the association between maternal benzodiazepine exposure during pregnancy and risk of miscarriage using the UIOPregnancyAlgorithm. A key methodological objective will be to assess how effect estimates vary across study designs with differing susceptibility to unmeasured confounding, protopathic bias, and exposure time-trend bias.
We look forward to a productive and inspiring collaboration in 2026, with ambitions for high scientific quality and clear clinical and societal relevance!
